What is a Prosthodontist?

A prosthodontist is a dentist who has completed dental school plus at least three additional years of advanced training and education in an CODA-accredited prosthodontic graduate program. They specialize in treating and handling dental and facial problems that involve restoring missing tooth and jaw structures. A prosthodontist is highly trained in cosmetics, dental implants, crowns, bridges, dentures, temporomandibular disorders (TMJ/TMD), and more.
Essentially, prosthodontists are THE recognized experts when anything needs to be replaced in your mouth. This can range from a single tooth, multiple teeth, or all teeth and gums in the mouth. While many other dentists can do some of these treatments, prosthodontists are the specialists dedicated to this type of care.
Prosthodontists have advanced training in restoring and replacing teeth. Prosthodontists are considered the leaders of the dental treatment plan. They regularly lead teams of general dentists, specialists, and other health professionals to develop solutions for your dental needs.

When should I see a Prosthodontist?

Either your dentist can refer you when they see more significant issues, or you can self refer if you have been noticing significant issues with tooth breakage, inability to eat well, problems with an existing denture or implants, or if you would like a second opinion. All are welcome in our office!

Do you take insurance and when are fees due?

We are happy to file all insurances for your visit and go over what your insurance will cover. We will always make sure you know the costs up front, no surprises! We are out of network with insurances, but that doesn't mean we can't file a claim or a pre-determination for you! We will work with you and your insurance company to make sure we can maximize your reimbursement. We offer financing solutions that make payments much easier. We do require half down on procedures that require a dental lab technicians work, but the rest of the fee is required at the time of service unless a prior arrangement has been made.

Do you do cleanings?

We do! We can also refer you to a trusted dentist close to home for your routine maintenance, however, if you have a prosthesis made by us, we would like to see you regularly. You can still come see us first, even if you need a dental cleaning and we can help you find the right general dentist for your needs.

Are you really expensive because you are a dental specialist?

There are some procedures that we may charge a bit more for because we are a specialty office and have extra training on prosthetic procedures. However, we have done research through the American Dental Association and the Fair Health Consumer website to make sure that we have competitive pricing with other dental providers in the area. Our goal is to provide great service and outcomes for our patients, but not to overcharge them. When you receive a treatment plan, you are more than welcome to go to the Fair Health Consumer Website to check for yourself! https://www.fairhealthconsumer.org/dental

We also offer financing options to break up payments for our patients. We never want money to be an obstacle for the care you deserve.
